To warn other to stear clear from Shipping Quedt

Don't even think of using this company! At least before you see the website I put up to warn others about this scam at www.shippingquestscams.com.

They are pure evil. Last year, I booked delivery of some things from Joliet, Illinois to Shenzhen, China through the ShippingQuest website. When it turned out that they could not deliver to Shenzhen and I had to spend thousands of dollars to pick my things up in Hong Kong, I posted some truthful reviews online about their bad service. The two *** old men who actually run ShippingQuest, the sometime orchestra conductor Winston Dan Vogel and Albert Abramov and their one man "IT Department" Javier "Chaim" Sajnovsky, first threatened me and then bought my personal name as a domain where they put up a website with a photo of me that they stole from one of my online profiles surrounded by sexually suggestive images under the heading "Erotic Massage." Yeah.

I sued them in federal court in Chicago and now have a $100,000 judgment against them.

Be Ye Warned. This is not a legitimate shipping company but a scam run by criminals that may not just rip you off but might also steal your iden

Very unhappy with shipping

On May 11th I ordered item 163147 a dress Order No. LEADV133113. It is now 42 days later and I have not received the order. I was told to check the tracking, which I have done for three weeks, the message is always the same, accepted at the sorting center in the Netherlands. How crazy is that? You shipped it not me. I want a refund immediately!!

I was quoted $800 + $200 discount for 17boxes of used household goods to be shipped to Guatemala. I measured all my boxes, i knew i was off by a few inches with the measurements. After i dropped my boxes at terminal i went straight to airport to catch my flight to Guatemala. So shippingquest.com sent me an invoice of $1400 (double the quote i was given) i had no choice to pay it. I PAYED FOR MY BOXES TO BE DELIVERED FROM PHILADELPHIA PORT TO GUATEMALA CITY. Well they provided flamingo to take care of the paperwork and picking the stuff up from the guatemala port to the city. ( i know i have to take care of taxes and clear custom) Well Well what a surprise here. They invoiced me here in Guatemala $870 not including $175 taxes $125 storage fee $80 Handling $35 for the bill of lading. According to flamingo lines here. The invoice shippingquest.com gave them (different from the one they game me and i payed for) they put on their bill of lading that i only payed $400 for my shipment and shippingquest.com didnt pay them a single dime for my stuff to be taken to guatemala city. AFTER SEVERAL EMAILS TO SHIPPINGQUEST.COM AND CALLS STILL NO ANSWER OR REPLY FROM THEM. So i went to their website chat and all they told me WE HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAY THEY DO IN GUATEMALA. Reallyyy? I payed you guys for my stuff to taken from philadelphia to guatemala city.

I wanted to have a carpet shipped from the US to the Netherlands.

Shippingquest sent a quote which sounded reasonable. After agreeing to this quote and after the carpet had been picked up from St.Louis MO address the price of the service went up.

Then no account was taken of the dates I had told them delivery would not be possible.

Instead I was informed that the carpet would have to go into storage and I would have to pay for that every day till it could be finally delivered. Next rude language was used in a mail to my Dutch handler of the shipment.Last but not least, carpet arrived not packaged as was agreed upon and paid for, but carelessly wrapped in paper. My dealings with Shippingquest were one big headache.

This happened to my friend and neighbor who was moving for good to Costa Rica. We helped him pack up and ship 7 boxes of clothing, supplies and his health supplements which he could not get there.

Same deal. Price increased. Charged for storage, late shipping, and finally.... They LOST all of them.

Gone. And their customer service is horrible.

ShippingQuest

Dear Customer, ShippingQuest quotes are based on freight dimensions and weight that is entered by the user in order to generate a quote. Your due for payment was not honored and your shipment remained at the terminal incurring storage until you satisfied the invoice.

Once your invoice was satisfied your goods sailed out, and your ocean bill of lading was emailed to you with an arrival. At destination as well you had an issue with our agent, you did not want to clear customs and pay the arrival fees. Everything that was promised per your booking, quotes, terms of service was honored.

Our quotes will not include: -Palletizing ( since customers will or will not palletize on there own -Fuel surcharge ( since fuel goes up and down ) -Additional weight, or volume ( invoices are based on real dimensions measured by a third party to confirm final volume and weight All quotes, terms of service, booking confirmation all clearly state that if customers do not palletize the freight, it will be done at the terminal for $95.00. Destination duties, taxes and terminal handling charges All quotes, terms of service, booking confirmation all clearly state that all bookings will have a fuel surcharge.

I entrusted ShippingQuest with shipping my items over to Stockholm, Sweden from Ohio. My guitar and my hard case were completely destroyed and my bookshelf was damaged. This company did not ship my items properly. I packed them as advised. I sent photos to the company and they told me they couldn't do anything about it because it wasn't a total loss. There were also many hidden charges. My shipping quote was under $300 and I ended up paying over $1,000 in the end. I would highly advise not using this shipping company. Their sales people hounded me for days because I requested a quote. I continuously had to tell them I needed time to figure out if I wanted to use their company and to please stop calling me multiple times a day. I did not have a good experience with ShippingQuest and now I have destroyed belongings and have to find legal counsel. Do not use them.

Dear Shaina Shenefelt, Thank you for your email. We are very sorry to hear about your damages.

Please keep in mind ShippingQuest is only a shipping company. You are required to package your goods appropriately for export. Customers are encouraged to purchase insurance. ShippingQuest customers support are only permitted to call a potential customer 2 times.

Our records clearly show that our agents were merely assisting you with the booking which required a back and forth conversation. Our customer services dept are well trained and respect the privacy and peace of all of potential customers. Your booking was for 35 cubic feet, the final volume at the receiving terminal was measured at 60 cubic feet. ShippingQuest quotes are based on freight dimensions and weight that is entered by the user in order to generate a quote.

I received several calls from your customer service department before I booked your services and I have the phone record to prove it. I let the company know I had a guitar and a bookshelf that were both fragile and was given instructions on how to pack them, which I followed.

They were mishandled and ruined. I would not recommend your company to anyone.

Shipped a single pallet of household goods, keepsakes and clothing to Romania from the US West Coast. I couldn't have asked for a more smooth transaction. The price was competitive; i was kept informed at all stages of the shipping; and the little shipment arrived at the destination a little ahead of time. I had pretty much liquidated all my belongings, and kept only the irreplaceable art, keepsakes, family photos, specialty kitchen items, and the best of my clothing, so the total weight was under 200 pounds, and consisted of only 26 boxes that all fit on one pallet. As life sometimes dictates, my plans were changed for me before the shipment arrived, so i attempted to arrange to return the un-opened, un-touched shipment from Romanian Customs, back to the US West Coast. I arranged for ShippingQuest to return the shipment, and was assured they would get back to me with a bid estimate. Meanwhile, Romanian Customs was charging a storage fee of 15 Euros/day, so i contacted ShippingQuest quite often, and was always assured that it was under control and that they were just waiting for Romanian "Agent" to contact them with the necessary customs details. The shipment over was so smooth that i had what turned out to be a very misplaced trust in the integrity and competency of this shipper. After repeated contacts produced only assurances and promises from the last of August, until the end of the year, i finally set out to try and contact Romanian Customs myself, just to see why my shipment was apparently being held up by them. I was also informed by ShippingQuest that i "must" send them the Customs storage fees, before they could process the shipment. (They'd already assured me twice that the shipment was "In Route" back to the US.) In January, i wired ShippingQuest $2,500.00 for the accumulated storage fees, in spite of thinking that these fees could have been far less, had they got on the phone with their "Agent", and got their act together. In February, i finally heard from Romanian Customs, and was informed that because the shipment was "abandoned" for over 90-days, it had been confiscated or destroyed by the Romanian government THE PRIOR NOVEMBER!!!, before ShippingQuest asked for the $2,500.00 the following December. I'm just an old guy on a fixed retirement income, or i would have sued. ...As it stands, their incompetency caused the loss of a lifetime's worth of keepsakes, photographs and art that are irreplaceable; my wardrobe, including fairly expensive suits and western hats; and all my medical, tax and personal records, ...and God knows what else. ...And to top it off, they basically defrauded me out of $2,500.00 in cash to supposedly pay storage fees for a shipment that they surely know had been destroyed 2-3 months earlier. An estimate of the value for what "was" replaceable in the shipment is +/- $15,000.00, not counting the $2,500.00 that they defrauded me out of. Would i ever use them again, or recommend them to a friend. .............Not just no, ...but H___ NO!!

ShippingQuest

Dear Mr Truelove, Thank you for your review. Your goods arrived on time per our commitment to you.

Per your booking you were supposed to clear customs and collect your goods on time. You disappeared for months and months since you claimed you were ill. ShippingQuest has no control over government customs anywhere, There are rules and regulations that govern all imported shipments and consignees must clear customs and collect the freight in a specified time. You disappeared for months and months.

Customs will discard your freight. ShippingQuest did not fail in any way. Consignees have a responsibility and you failed to meet that responsibility. Your booking was door to port, and ShippingQuest provided the service perfectly just like you mentioned in your review.

Once your freight sailed the ocean bill of lading copy along with instructions and contact information for our agent was emailed to you. This is when you are required to take over, contact our agent and be ready to clear customs and collect your goods.

You never did that, thus resulting in Romanian customs to discard your freight. Please be accurate with your review.

My review already stated that the trip over was great. My dispute was in the incompetent and dishonest way your company treated me when i was trying to return the goods to the US.

I have the full email record of our communications beginning from the August prior to the November Romania confiscated/destroyed my goods. Your own documentation should include this record of events. I was assured by your company numerous times that everything was being handled. Your own records will detail how often you assured me that everything was under control, ...and they will also confirm that i was communication with your company and NEVER "disappeared for MONTHS".

That is an out and out lie, but you already know that, because you have the same record of our communications that i do. I wasn't "ill" until the following December, when i required an emergency surgery, and as soon as i was able to review your correspondence, i arranged to wire you the $2,500.00 that you suddenly needed urgently, ...when the shipment had already been destroyed, due to your own incompetence, If you will take a cursory review of your own records of our correspondence, you will see that your request for the cash wire was "after" the Romanian government had confiscated my goods, and "after" your company had assured me no less than twice that my goods were "In Route" back to the US. ...Your records should also show that i contacted you to inform you that my goods were lost, and i requested a receipt for the $2,500.00 that you supposedly were to pay the Customs storage fees. Your employee responded via telephone that my request had been "turned over to your documents department".

....That was the last i ever heard from you. If you doubt my word, or your "documents department" operates at the same level of inefficiency as the personnel that were supposedly working on the return shipment of my goods, ...i'm more than happy to publish all the email between us, that will show that it was your company's incompetence and/or slackness that led to the destruction of my goods, ...and that your request for the $2,500.00 came AFTER my goods were already destroyed.

I don't expect anything from ShippingQuest, because if you were going to make good on all you said you'd do in our correspondence, you'd have done it by now. "This" response to your reply to my complaint is merely to assure other readers that there is nothing untrue or exaggerated about my initial post, and my characterization of it is accurate, ...and i'm happy to supply the email record, if you or anyone else doubts the "accuracy" of my review.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1541106

I think your own records would have convinced you that you should at least return the $2,500.00 you insisted you needed for "customs storage fees", that i paid "after" (the records show) Romanian customs already confiscated/destroyed my shipment. ...But, i s'pose you probably thought that was pretty cool to receive such a bonus for doing absolutely nothing?

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I was given a quote for 25 boxes of the same size : 1300.00 (300 was truck cost so 1000 was for 25 boxes) I was told if I added boxes it would be for the same rate, possibly cheaper. I added 11 boxes. 40*11 = 440 dollars. They added 1500.00 Somehow they forgot to tell me about a fuel surcharge of 650 and they're claiming that the boxes fit on two pallets, one mostly empty but they're going to charge the pallet cost so the volume doesn't matter. And they're charging me for two pallets when they mentioned only one. When I complained their written quote did not include the fuel surcharge they pointed to some tiny text at the bottom of the quote. So line items for the smaller stuff and the second largest cost was completely never mentioned or itemized until they had my goods hostage. i am so screwed over by them.

Dear Customer, Every quote, booking and booking confirmation includes all surcharges. The booking confirmation clearly states your fuel surcharge and your palletizing charges.

Additionally, your quote states your cost per cubic feet. Your invoice is based on the final volume measured by the terminal.

Please reply to your invoice email so our billing dept can review once more. Thank you Customer service ShippingQuest Team

The customer service of ShippingQuest was so wonderful and helpful. They helped us on setting up our account and shipment. We had a total of 25 boxes of 18 by 18 by 24 sizes as advised. They also recommend tips for us to save up from our bill and what to prepare for documents at the customs and for the shipment. We are quoted for $1400 and got a bill of $1600 not that bad for an estimate. We have followed all their instructions. Another great this with them is that they have been truly patient with us. We never run out of the question from the very start until we have received our goods here in Frankfurt. Together with our family we thank ShippingQuest for the job well done highly recommended.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We moved from North Carolina to Lisbon, Portugal and had 11 boxes (50inX50inX24in) to ship.

At first everything was really smooth. The quote was great when comparing to other companies, and the lady Cris was really helpful during all the times (10?) we spoke on the phone.

And then the problems started. No one said anything about the maximum capacity of one palette, even after I mentioned the size of the boxes and how many they were, no one made sure I knew what was needed in terms of customs, no one told me I had to call someone in Rotterdam (Netherlands) to find out where my things were, no one told me I had to be the one making sure the things were finally going to be shipped to Lisbon,...

I know they will say I had the read the fine print, I had to click all the links on the emails, that it is my fault, but after speaking with them more than 10 times on the phone, asking all kinds of questions, they could have said or reinforced some of the things I just mentioned.

Never again!

I couldn't have asked for better customer service when i used Shipping Quest for the trip to Romania, ...But when i asked if they would ship me back, and they said they could, is when the trouble began. Dear Customer, ShippingQuest is very sorry that you feel this way. ShippingQuest customer service do review all charges with customers, additionally every quote provides the following link: https://www.shippingquest.com/WhatIs100Cf This link advises you of the volume every pallet can occupy.

Your service was scheduled to the terminal in Lisbon Portugal, the freight is logistically routed via Rotterdam. Customers are very well advised that when doing a service limited to the port they are responsible to contact our agent, clear customs, pay all fees associated with the release. Once shipments sail out our documentation depts emails every customer the ocean bill of lading copy, along with our agents contact information and instructions. This is how the service works.

Your claim that you had to chase the agent is wrong and misleading.

How else will you connect with our agent? We provide you the contact information and yes you are required to contact the agent.

Job well done, impressed!

It was an unfortunate event on me, losing my job. Just got divorces and needed to move out of the country. I have a lot of things to move out and bring with me back to my parent's country. I had 1 sofa bed, furniture and tons of boxes of clothes and utensils. I saw Shippingquest when I search on Google for an international Ocean shipping company, I have read good reviews for them then I decided to go with them, though I was hesitant at first I still tried to call them to see how is their customer service works. At first they have told me that they cannot pack furniture and is that they no accept shipment with furniture and sofa bed. They suggested me to sell the furniture and bed so I had a second thought of doing it, I did anyway which I am happy with my decision for an additional income to ship out my goods. I continue communicating with them and I juts love how they give importance to their customers. All information, instructions and information are spoon fed to me. Very grateful for it. They picked up 17 boxes of my personal items. Process is on going and I have paid my bill base from my final measurements. I paid $1203.95 for my 17 boxes of some medium and some small sizes. When clearing customs in France, the agent their is quite rude, I forwarded my concern to shippingquest and they changed the agent assigned to me. I received my goods with no damage at all. I am truly impressed with the job well done.

Confusion

The price doubled when the shipment arrived at the terminal. This was a surprise to us but we still paid it.

The confusion is where to send the money.

You don't except what most people have as payment which expanded the confusion. The money was sent to the company but to the wrong account. The actual account address should be listed first and should let the payer know that. A 70$ charge was added in order to refund the money into the payee account then a storage fee was added.

225$ to be exact. It takes 7 to 10 business days for the money to arrive back into the payer account.

I am disappointed in this company as this is my first experience with this company. Now my unit is just sitting in N.J.

Criminals

I had the misfortune to believe in their quote to ship few packages from USA to Europe and from the initial quote of $379 they are now asking something like $1,180. They use low cost quotes to attract clients in a trap, once the packages are dropped off they start their game of a countless hidden costs they finally disclose otherwise they won't ship your packages.

Once the packages are almost at destination their partner, will contact you requesting information and they bill you for their services (paperwork, mandatory insurance, storage etc. All costs that you believed to be included in their quote. The cost of the local partner is the most of the cost of the entire shipment.

They defend themselves saying that on confirmation page it is specified that some costs are excluded. The reality is that they exclude 90% of the costs.

They shouldn't be allowed to do business, this is criminality in action to cream poor customers that enter their trap.

Dear Tiziana, Even the agent in Italy who received the goods on your behalf is clearly advising you the same information: See below: On 8/10/2018 5:49 AM, Maurizio Briglia wrote: Dear Mrs Tiziana, We are writing this message to inform you that the situation is absolutely crystal clear and that there are no doubts that the charges, as shown in our enclosed arrival notice, are for your account. As you can see from the also enclosed copy of the bill of lading, it is clearly stated that the charges upon arrival at destination are for account of the receiver.

So your feelings are surely influenced by a logic lack of experience in the transportation field, what is understandable by everyone in copy. We invite you to settle our charges and collect your goods in order to avoid further storage costs.

We hope to having clarified the entire matter at this point. With best regards, Maurizio Briglia (C.E.O.)

Dear Shippingquest Customer Service, Maurizio Briglia refers to the bill of landing to prove that I was aware of that a local forwarder was part of the equation. What he did not get and what it is clystall clear is that I received the bill of landing 2 weeks later I confirmed and paid for the shipping service.

Also, what is crystall clear is that Shippingquest advertises that your costs are 50% lower than your competitors because you do not provide the service itself. You organize a shipping with payment at destination. Combiline, your forwarder, stated that you had their costs before the shipping was confirmed by Shippingquest to tjem. You selected the services they were providing based on the cost they shared with you and authorized the shippment with payment at destination.

Shippingquest sells a shipping service, and what you try to accomplish is to get paid for the service and ship the freight with shipment to be paid at destination. This is illegal.

It has been over a month now that i receive your warning messages, your threatens, your blackmails. My blood pressure went so high for stress that i had to see my doctor.

I cannot sleep at night anymore because of this and Shippingquest not delivering the service that was paid for is causing me to see a psychiatrist to deal with this stress.

I dedicated countless hours writing emails, pisting reviews, filing complaints with athe Federal Trade, General Attorney of New York, Consumer Affairs etc. Shippingquest will have to pay for all of this.

Hi Tiziana Adamo,No shipping company will assume your duties, taxes, or destination charges. Additionally, ShippingQuest is the most transparent shipping company with online quotes, cost per cubic feet remains the same, if customer will palletize the freight, there will be no charge for palletizing, everything is disclosed and confirmed by you Tiziana Adamo. Our agent responsibility is to collect the entire container from the port with many many customer on board.

Shippingquest is so transparent that your clients are happy and post very positive comments on you. Additionally, Shippingquest is so transparent that you never ended up in court because sometimes some clients refused to get robbed from you.

My freight did not reached destination. My boxes are hold hostage along the way and you are threatening me to put a Lien on my account if i do not pay the company that is completing the shipping service i already paid for to Shippingquest. Your forwarder in Italy is threateng me that if i do not pay them they will destroy my belongings. The so called costs at destination as for now are zero, I connected with the company in Palermo that handles the terminal.

My shippment in Palermo is unknown. I have been told that once the shipper delivers my freight, unless I ask them to deliver the packages home or to store for a prolongated amount of time in the terminal there will be no charges. What you are asking for is for me to pay the costs to complete the shippment service. You offer a shipping service but what you really do is organizing the shipment with payment at destination.

This is what your forwarder stated. Shippingquest knew exactly the amount of money your client would have been charged and decided not to share that cost in addition you authorized the shipping with costs to be paid at destination.

Dear Customer,ShippingQuest quotes are based on freight dimensions and weight that is entered by the user in order to generate a quote. Our quotes will not include:-Palletizing ( since customers will or will not palletize on there own-Fuel surcharge ( since fuel goes up and down )-Additional weight, or volume ( invoices are based on real dimensions measured by a third party to confirm final volume and weightAll quotes, terms of service, booking confirmation all clearly state that if customers do not palletize the freight, it will be done at the terminal for $95.00.All quotes, terms of service, booking confirmation all clearly state that all bookings will have a fuel surcharge.

Dear Shippingquest customer service, if read the countless negative reviwes on a number of websites and social networks you have I would never relayed on you with my belongins. All those negative reviews are about your way to do dishonest business.

In addition to fuel surcharge, pelletizing etc that increased the cost from $379 to about $650, I now have your partner in Milan Italy billing me for an additional $500 for handling papewrwork, mandatory insurance and a number of activities that are not related to the port of Palermo, the destination. You offered the service to deliver from NJ to Palermo. Costs at destination would be the cost to the Palermo's facility for pick up not on free time, cost for storage because the consignee delayed the pick up, special hanling because the nature of the packages. Certainly not your Italian parner in Milan who will handle the shipment oversee.

You have a partner to complete the shipment? You pay your partner or you disclose to your client that charges at destination includes your partner. Or you really think is not relevant to let your clients know that your cost is just a deposit? When I go to a car dealer and I agree to a price for the purchase of a vehicle, I do not find the new car ready for pick up without the tires and if I want the tires I have to pay more than for the car it self because tires are handled by a third pary.

Your hidden cost are so high the the total cost for the shipment is 3 times the initial cost. What do you believe is the reason why a client approach your organization and request a quote? I can tell you why i did it. I requested a quote to see if I could afford to ship my stuff.

I could afford $379, I struggled to pay $650 I do not have the money to pay the rest. You are causing a great damage because I will be forced to abandon my packages. Insted of providing a service to your client you caused a damage.

Don't you think there is a better way to do business? You are causing economical costs and a lot stress, do you now have a solution?

OMG. I have the same situation.

I am luckier than you. I will pay about 300 to take my boxes back before I end up paying a lot more.

Prior to making the reservation with ShippingQuest, we had all known that shipping internationally is very stressing especially dealing with Customs. Before we book our shipment we check with our consulate what charges we may get also we check with ShippingQuest if they cater destination fee. They made it clear to us that it will be on our shoulder. We got a quote for shipping our Piano and 5 medium size boxes for $1500. They advised us to have our piano crated and palletized our boxes to avoid any charges at the terminal. After we palletized and crated our goods we gave them the measurement, the final volume, and weight. Though we are not sure of the weight we then just gave them an estimate. At the time of pickup driver was very helpful and carefully loaded our piano to the truck. Our freight was shipped but then we face a little issue with the customs in Australia. The Customs office took quite long to approved our documents. We advise ShippingQuest to delay the shipment to avoid storage fees is Australia cause we have known that it is very expensive to store our goods there. ShippingQuest immediately found a way to delay our shipment. They have stored our goods ion Singapore warehouse since as per them the storage there is very cheap. They have also worked on changing the vessel for me and loop me in with the update of my shipment. It took us 3 weeks to get our paperwork approved in Australia, then on, ShippingQuest release our goods in Singapore. When the shipment arrived in Australia the process of clearance has been so smooth since we are prepared with all the necessary things to do. Thank you ShippingQuest for the help!
